1985
Foundation
It was founded in 1985 by a group of visionary businessmen and women, scientists and community leaders. ANCON works with national and international agencies, academic institutions, businesses and local communities to contribute to and inspire citizens to protect and restore Panama's natural resources.

1990
Expansion of projects
During the 1990s, ANCON expanded its conservation projects, working closely with national and international agencies to implement ecosystem restoration and protected area management programmes.
2000-2010
Innovation and education
In this decade, ANCON focused on innovation and environmental education. Campaigns were implemented to raise community awareness of the importance of conservation and sustainable practices were promoted at local and national levels.
2011-2020
Strengthening partnerships
Between 2011 and 2020, ANCON strengthened its partnerships with academic, corporate and governmental entities. These efforts allowed us to expand the protection of key areas and improve the management of natural resources in Panama.
Actua- lity
Sustainability and the future
Today, 40 years later ANCON continues to lead conservation initiatives, focusing on sustainability and resilience in the face of climate change. The organisation remains committed to its vision of ensuring a prosperous and balanced future for present and future generations.
