Reforesting for a greener Panama

Restoration for the future

Target

Reforesting 1,000,000 hectares in 20 years

We are part of the Alliance for the Million, an ambitious initiative that aims to reforest one million hectares in Panama over the next 20 years. Our goal is to restore degraded ecosystems, promote biodiversity and combat climate change. We work in partnership with government, private companies and local communities to make a lasting impact on the environment and society.

Reforesting

The Alliance for the Million

It is a public-private pact that aims to reforest one million hectares over the next 20 years, which will reduce the rate of deforestation of natural forests, contribute to carbon sequestration to turn Panama into a low-carbon country, in addition to other social, environmental and economic benefits generated by reforestation.

This partnership will contribute to the implementation of national forest policy and climate change policy, sustainable development and improved forest governance.
